i Power Cordless Lighting was delighted to be invited by the Victoria and Albert Museum to assist them with some design ideas for lighting a Gala Dinner held to celebrate the opening of the V&A’s blockbuster Autumn exhibition “Hollywood Costume”.
The exhibition explores the central role costume design plays in cinema storytelling and covers costumes from a wide range of famous Hollywood movies from the 20th and 21st Century. The exhibition includes exhibits such as: The red slippers worn by Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz, the dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in the film, Some Like it Hot to modern day such as: costumes worn in the huge 2011 hit film Avatar.
A glamorous line up of guests; including Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter joined other luminaries from the world of Film and Television who attended the glittering Gala Dinner. iPower Cordless Lighting helped recreate the Golden era of Hollywood, with a Greta Garbot inspired interior, with the sheer silver table cloths blending beautifully with iPower’s silver silk thread lamp shades with crystal droplets adorning cordless art deco lamps. Florist Shane Connolly, surrounded the base of the lamps with dark red roses.
